When Kenny Met Padraig Harrington
Hello All,
I found a nice little story about Kenny on the PGA.com website. It tells how the triple major winning golfer Padraig Harrington gave Kenny a bit of guidance and some simple tips on how to go that further step.
As we all know it worked out well for Kenny in 2008 and here is to a super 2009
Here is a link to that story on the PGA.com website.

Kenny Going for Gold in London 2012
Hello all,
Kenny has made a decision. He will turn down the lucrative offers from the Professional Boxing ranks in The United States and remain amateur to fight for a Gold Medal in London 2012.
Since winning a Silver Medal in Beijing Kenny has been courted by some of the biggest names in boxing on both sides of the Atlantic. It's no secret that kenny was flown to Los Angeles and New York to listen to lucrative offers to turn pro.
Kenny will look to add to his 8 Senior National titles and fight to be the first Irish Boxer ever to win two Olympic Medals, something which has never happened in Irish Olympic Boxing history.

Kenny Joins Louis Copelands Wall of Fame
Kenny recently visited Louis Copeland where he was fitted by Master Tailor Louis Copeland. The staff at Louis Copeland are amazing and really lend to the wonderful atmosphere in famous Capel Street Store.
The Copeland family have been in the clothing business for nearly a hundred years in Ireland. Hyman Copeland started the business in the early 1900's which was continued by his son Louis. Today the business is run by the third generation namely Louis and Adrian. The Louis Copeland name is possibly one of the best known names worldwide in the clothing industry.
The list goes on and on, with famous names such as Pierce Brosnan (007), Tom Jones, Ronan Keating, Westlife, Kevin Spacey, Dan Aykroyd and the European Ryder Cup Team to name but a few not forgetting our loyal and regular clientele.

Kenny Wins Boxer of the Year at 2008 Texaco Sports Awards
Kenny Won the 2008 Boxer of the year award at the 51st Texaco Sports Awards. Below is a press release.
In Boxing, the award goes to Dubliner Kenny Egan. Kenny Egan had a goal early this year. He wanted to be in Beijing in August, mixing it with the cream of the world’s boxers. He failed at the first qualifier in Pescara in late February. But the determination of the man who took bronze at the European Championships in 2006 saw him through four tough encounters in Athens in April. The light heavyweight from Clondalkin was now going to China, but his target had changed. He began to focus on performing to his limits on the big stage. He wanted a medal. And as the country willed him on, he disposed of Jackson of the Virgin Islands, Muzaffer of Turkey, Silva of Brazil and Jeffries of Britain. The dream of winning a medal had changed to winning gold. And while this eluded him, he became a national hero in defeat, in the gracious way he accepted a tight result that might well have gone his way. “Deep down in my heart of hearts”, he said later, “I feel I won the fight, but that’s sport at the end of the day”. Instead he stood proudly in the ring, smiled, saluted his supporters, and took time to kiss the medal that hung from Xiaoping Zhang’s neck. Britain’s Tony Jeffries was shocked by the decision. “I think he should be walking around with the gold medal now.” But in defeat, Kenny Egan’s stature had soared, nationally and internationally, the man and the boxer.
Other winners on the night included
Jason Smyth - Athletics
Kenny Egan - Boxing
Seán Cavanagh - Gaelic Football
Pádraig Harrington - Golf
Aidan O'Brien - Horse Racing
Eoin Larkin - Hurling
Briege Corkery - Camogie & Ladies' Gaelic Football
Ronan O’Gara - Rugby

Kenny Egan - Back From Beijing
Kenny's new DVD , Kenny Egan - Back From Beijing will be released on Friday November 14th.
Ireland’s Olympic hopes this summer were kept alive by our boxers.
Five went to Beijing and three came back with medals. Team
captain Kenny Egan instantly struck a chord with the nation. He
proclaimed at the start that he would be f irst into the ring for
Ireland and last out. And he was true to his word, as he always is.
If anything this f ilm will conf irm the things that you instinctively
know about Kenny - those character traits that he reveals in the
ring. Spend some time in the company of Kenny Egan the Boxer
and meet his alter ego, Kenneth Egan the son and brother.
His story - His journey - What’s happened to date and what’s next.
